Original and still the best

I've studied Larry Williams for many years.

I ultimately believe that his earlier writings are
his most honest and useful ones:
This book is him giving you what you need
to succeed.

Later LW writings seem to be giving you what
the publishing industry and it's customers are
interested in, and not what made Larry become
a teacher in the first place.

This is my favorite LW book. I have had
trading success with ideas from this book.

The archaeological record provides the central focus, but chapters also incorporate essential information from the paleoenvironmental sciences, biological anthropology, linguistics, and social anthropology. Bellwood approaches questions about past cultural and biological developments in the region from a multidisciplinary perspective. Historical issues given extended treatment include the significance of the Homo erectus populations of Java, the dispersal of the present Austronesian-speaking peoples of the region within the past 4,000 years, and the spread of metallurgy since 500 B.C. Bellwood also discusses relationships between the prehistoric populations of the archipelago and those of neighboring regions such as Australia, New Guinea, and mainland Asia.

About the Author
Peter Bellwood is Professor of Archaeology at the Australian National University. He is the author of "Examining the Farming/Language Dispersal Hypothesis" (co-edited with Colin Renfrew, 2003), "Prehistory of the Indo-Malaysian Archipelago" (2nd edition 1997), "The Polynesians: Prehistory of an Island People" (1987), and "Man's Conquest of the Pacific: The Prehistory of Southeast Asia and Oceania" (1986).

Extraordinarily informative

I found this book very useful in understanding much about the prehistory of the Indo-Malaysian Archipelago. It was in depth and easily read. I was especially interested in the animistic beliefs the Negritos held, and found it amazing that even christianity had to be adjusted to fit around their strong belief in animism later on in modern history.

About the Author
Jorge Bucay is a gestalt psychotherapist, psychodramatist, and writer. He was born in 1949 in Argentina. His books have sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, and have been translated into more than seventeen languages. They include Letters for Claudia (2007) and The Candidate, for which he was awarded the Novela Ciudad de Torrevieja Prize in 2006.

Let Me Tell You a Story.

I found the book by chance at my cousin's house who had gotten it as a Christmas gift, and as it looked interesting so I started reading it. I found it very interesting and engaging, although, I must confess that at times I did not really understand the point of some of the stories. Since I was reading the Croatian translation, I ordered the book in English, and am planning on reading it again.
Overall, I would recommend the book to anyone who needs some guidance in their life. I think it can help with general questions of one's purpose and future direction in life.
What amazed me more was the approach of using stories from all different curltures and myths.

I read several of Bucay's books but in Spanish. I got this one as a present. Though it may be difficult to understand some of the stories, you will find yourself re reading them or understanding them in the future. It psychology explained through a series of stories.

love this book and all the stories within. inspiring and enlightening, the book is not filled with undigestible boring preachings, but rather simple, light-hearted stories that can be interpreted multiple ways from different angles. lost a star only coz it was received with dents to the top and bottom of the edges of the spine, and i am particular about my books, especially when i buy it new.

About the Author
Michael R. Speegle is currently the Department Chairman of Process Technology, Instrumentation and Electrical Technology at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. He holds a master's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington, and has worked for 18 years in the petrochemical and refining industry in various roles. Retired from BP-Amoco, Speegle completed three oil and gas internships sponsored by BP to enhance the teaching of oil and gas exploration and production. He is also the author of several books and articles in the field and co-authored two textbooks for analyzer technicians. Speegle is a member of the Gulf Coast Process Technology Association and has received a certificate in oil and gas production from the Center for the Advancement of Process Technology.
