Well done survey of world history. The important evolutionary trends of civilization were followed without attempting to place everything on a specific time line. The flexible approach to the presentation enabled the sweeps of history to be conceptualized without having to memorize all the facts and dates. The facts were there, however, one could easily place the facts in the proper categories to be remembered.

This is a fine book packed full of information and photos but I wish modern history books were written more multi-dimensionally as opposed to linearly as life happens, like Toynbee used to write.
