Worth it for Christmas Carol History enthusiasts

Printing could have been better, but that's the risk of these reprints, they are only as good as the scan. That said I was great to be able to get one of the earliest printed sources for the 12 Days of Christmas. I was delighted to find the book included some games as well.

Awesome Read

Its truly one of the best books I've read in a long time really enjoyed the story-line behind the characters here. This story and characters are well thought out and very in-depth, its easy to dive into a good book when the author puts passion and thought into works like this one! I foundd myself clearing half my day just to read it from beginning to end!
Very touching. Highly recommended read! All in all A great read. Will be reading this one again.

Review of "Rogue Breed"

This is definitely not a book for the weak that is for sure. I don't like really dark and brutal stories, but like Wolf Specter as a author. This story has a lot of sadism, implied and sometimes graphic. I know it was necessary to get Jonas to run from his pack. I got really angry at Roran for wanting to give Jonas up and laughed at some of Jonas's remarks. There were a few tears, my toes curled at the violence (not in a good way), and I felt fear and my heart raced as Jonas kept delaying running from his alpha Locke. All in all, I felt a lot of emotion and that is what a good story is about. Throw is the hot sex and you will have the fans of Mr. Specter ecstatic. I did give this book 4 stars as some of the sadistic acts by Locke and his minions were a little unnecessary for a story that was already an excellent read with a HEA ending.

I Loved This Book!!!

This book is about Jonas and Roran. I loved this book. I loved the story line and the characters. I fell in love with Jonas and Roran. I loved all of the twists and turns and thinking that I knew what was going to happen and then finding out I was wrong. I couldn’t put this book down. Thank you, Wolf Specter for another enjoyable book. I received this free book in exchange for an honest review.

Jonas is an Omega of the Mountain Pack and has no love for the Alpha Locke and the way that he runs the pack. Locke treats all of his mates like they are breeding cows and if they survive the mating and then birthing the kids they rarely make it longer than a year with him. Jonas wants no part of that violence. With his heat coming up he knows that he has to decide whether to stay and be bred by Locke or to leave and take his chances by himself. Jonas decides to leave and wants to put as much distance as he can before going into heat so that Locke and his trackers can’t find him or smell his heat.

Roran is the legendary sigma who defied their pack and lives in the wild by himself. He had challenged Locke for the right to be alpha of the pack and lost because Locke had cheated by using magic to make him stronger. Roran has lived by himself for five years and has made a territory close to the Mountain pack and the River pack. He comes across Jonas when he crossed into his territory and stayed in his cave. Roran is convinced that Jonas is a spy and trying to find his home. He doesn’t want Jonas there in his territory and is going to send him back to his pack. But between getting to know Jonas and their instant attraction to each other he decides to keep him around for a couple of days. Roran knows that Locke will be on his way as soon as the war is over and he doesn’t want to be confronted by Locke again.

When Jonas realizes that he is pregnant he knows that he needs to leave Roran before Locke comes, not just to protect his child but also to protect the child’s father. Jonas decides not to tell Roran about the child because he knows that Roran wouldn’t allow him to leave. Throw in Locke’s general Kerrigan finding them just as they are leaving and having him beaten by Roran and then being surrounded by Jaymen’s pack when they passed into their territory. They were saved by Creed who had raised Jonas after his father was killed and then before they could leave again Locke and his hunting party show up. Roran battles Locke and wins and then Creed and Jonas are kidnapped by the River pack on the way back to the Mountain pack to let them know that they had a new Alpha. Ronan was able to smooth things out with the River pack and brought harmony to all of the surrounding packs and peace and happiness back to the Mountain pack. And he took Jonas as his heartmate to be his one and only mate.

About the Author

James Bailey was born in Arkansas City, Kansas. After pursuing an acting career in the early '80s, he discovered that writing was another way to express his pent-up anger and creativity. He was content to leave Hollywood but soon after was struck with a crippling form of OCD. Now recovered, he lives in Louisiana, where he continues to write and act.

For some it's unnervingly, but it's not so bizarre ;-)

Until last week, I didn't know the slightest thing about him, or about his book, until he went and introduced himself through MySpace, something that led to the inevitable reading of said book, and something that I'm really glad that I did. It's 222 pages of one of the most incredibly well written, fresh and original books that you're ever likely to read, a word of warning though, it really will make you question yourself, and exactly how pernickety you are. We all have an OCD, we may not realise it, or we do, and it's just insignificant, but we rarely externalises our OCD, are never forced to justify it, or explain it away, usually we're able to sufficiently hide it enough to function, but it wouldn't take much for everyone to collapse under the weight of it, and only a small percentage could ever do what James Bailey did, namely building himself back up. All of the patients in his book really do stand out too, because they're chillingly real, but then I suppose that's because they actually are, but he's managed to render them better than anyone else could have. It really is like reading the transcript of a Docu-Soap, and I'm not talking about an episode of "Cops", but an English one, because it's unapologetic, and gritty. What James Bailey has written is brutally honest, and I don't think that I've ever read that level of honestly, that level of shameless exposure; he made me feel like I lived it with him. Reading this book made me look at myself a little differently, maybe a little more clearly, but it also made me a friend in James Bailey, and that was well worth the cost of a good book ;-)

James Bailey is an amazing writer! He will touch your heart and will make you laugh at the same time. His book is very interesting because shows how he passed through several problems, risks, and tests in life, but didn't give up. He is a victorious! James is an wonderful person; he didn't just help himself but I'm sure many other people.

James, thank you for your book, thank you to share with all the world your very strong life's experience. You're so clear and I love it. Thank you to be people's friend.

A fantastic, inspiring & enormously funny read

There were 2 things that struck me in particular when reading this book.
One was James' honesty which enables the reader to acquire a rare and fascinating insight into the life of an individual suffering from such a disabling & severe condition.
I learned a heck of a lot about OCD through reading this book & I found it most fascinating to read about James' real life experiences.
Secondly was the humour that was rife throughout the book. James is clearly blessed with the ability to transform any scenario, no matter how daunting, into something so funny it just tickles you.
I loved every word. Brilliant.

Truly a Primer.

I refer my friends and associates to this book who have little to no formal knowledge of biotech, biologicals, or pharma and their application at the cellular level. Beware, however, there is nothing in this book about bio devices or the FDA process of device approval which I was hoping to see. Otherwise, it is what its title claims, a Primer about Biotech and well illustrated.

Think you have what it takes?

Thinking about starting a company? Read this book to find out what it really takes to create a successful high-tech company. This book covers just about every detail and sacrifice you will need to make. A lot of techies aspiring to be the next Bill Gates thought they could start a company based upon the merits of their idea alone, but the facts are it takes a lot more than a good idea to create a successful high tech company.
The book outlines the whole process from initial idea to IPO. The book tends to focus on the IPO-Venture model for startups, giving little ink to other methods. The only downside of this book is it was written during the height of the .CON boom, so don't expect to find the magic formula for developing a startup in today's business climate. The information dealing for personnel, legal, IP, and getting VC funding is worth the cover price alone. Overall, this is an extremely informative book and a must read for anyone thinking about starting a company or joining a startup.

Wealth of Information- Ignore it at your own peril!

It's true that this book is dated. It was written in 1992, and covers NOTHING after 1991, except for thinly disguised attempts to make the book appear more recent- the copyright is 1997, and there are new pages added with info on Yahoo and Netscape.
That said, even if there was another good book on this subject out there, published in 1999, I would still recommend this book. The reason is simple. The information it contains is too important to miss. The book is very well-researched and well-written. If the authors did come out with a second edition that covered the 90s companies- in particular the dotcoms- I would still recommend buying this book, unless the second edition includes (or a meaningful comparison with) the information contained in this book, to put things in perspective. While looking at the valuations of dotcoms would be very interesting and useful, I believe you'll get a skewed picture unless you also have the pre-dotcom era data, to give you a realistic expectation of the potential of your own company.

Board Pearls

This do-it as you go along book is essential for everyone taking the ABIM clinical cardiac EP boards. Additionally it is a great refresher and reminder for careful analysis of intracardiac electrograms. Some important concepts are emphasized which are important for both boards and clincal practice. It has some classic tracings and perhaps some not so common events. It could use more emphasis on atrial fibrillation.I am sure the next edition which is being currently revised will demonstrate that. Layout to present electrograms can be slightly better by using vertical flip over spiral bound manual versus turning the pages. Overall great bang for the buck!!

Warranty of quality

Excellent. Simply perferct and usefull...George Klein and Eric Prystowsky...if you are in the EP filed, you know what I mean...those names are warranty of quality...you see them in a book and you buy it, period. always good.
